Vincent A. Tampio is a recent graduate of SUNY New Paltz, earning a bachelor of science degree in music with summa cum laude honors. He completed a dual major in jazz study and composition and theory.
While at New Paltz, Tampio composed and arranged original jazz and orchestral pieces and performed in many live venues including the jazz quartet Quatrane. His principal instrument is the trumpet but he also performs with the flugelhorn, cornet, slide trumpet, electric and acoustic guitars and keyboards.
Tampio is the son of Michael and Kathy Tampio of Silver Creek. He is a 2007 graduate of Silver Creek Central School. He plans to further his career in music by attending the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pa., in the fall to earn a master's of music degree with a concentration in jazz performance.
