John Byrne Band

The Living Room at 35 East, 35 East Lancaster Avenue, Ardmore, PA

John Byrne will bring his trio with Maura Dwyer on cello and violin and Vince Tampio on trumpet to The Living Room for a more stripped down experience than with his full band.

Byrne's music is a hybrid of Irish and American folk music. The Philadelphia Daily News calls The John Byrne Band "Edgy yet accessible, in a Luka Bloom meets Dylan kind of way."

Byrne is a native of Dublin and is the former leader of Patrick's Head. Their debut album, "After the Wake," was released to critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic in 2010. With influences ranging from The Chieftains to Planxty to Bob Dylan, Byrnes songwriting honors and expands upon the musical and lyrical traditions of his native and adopted homes. Byrne and the band followed up "After the Wake" in early 2013 with an album of Celtic and American traditional tunes. The album, "Celtic/Folk," received attention from National Public Radio and former host of The Folk Show on WXPN, Gene Shay.
